-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello Roelof,
VBG>> I would like to create a reply template that automatically VBG>> inserts the senders IP address. RO> Why? VBG>> Is this possible? RO> I wouldn't bet on it. Damn... :| RO> I've received messages from which I couldn't RO> determine the originating IP-address manually (because it's not RO> mentioned, apparently not all servers mention it), Is there a way to simply prove that someone has sent me a message from the location they say their sending the message without me having to make them confirm it or at least have proof when someone sends me a message I can track them down without difficulty? I wish to run a single optin mailing list and will send a "no need to confirm your subscription message out along with the IP address" Of course every message will have a remove link. "Now I am going slightly off topic" Some people might argue running a single optin list is bad but either they're not list runners or are spam paranoid. I in no way with my previous statement intend to begin a debate but in my eyes and heart I know I have no intentions of running a spam ring. But some will still argue to then make it double optin. I choose not to with or without the IP and the reason is simple. You want to be successful you follow what the successful say and so they've said build your list single optin. It's not a joke and I am talking about Brian Garvin & Gary Shawkey. Look them up on the web and you'll probably understand. These guys rake in more than a 100,000 a month and I wouldn't mind making a fraction of that so since I respect them in that sense I'll listen to them. They spew about how they're success came without double optin and how it really is only a convenience for the subscribers mind. Anyway I figured being TB! is so powerful (no exaggeration) whether or not it can extract an IP address, I would like to use it for some light list management. I ask if recording the IP address (or some proof) of the mails origin because in my heart if I go single optin I really mean no harm from it. Please no debates, I seen others go nuts to prove their opinion and I would only like a factual answer to my question alone. If you've got something positive or negative to say and its not about how I can extract an IP address or proof of origin of the message you can e-mail me privately. - - -- Best regards, Victor B.
