Yes, they're made by the company that produces the Anti-Virus
    software.

    Usually no.

Installation of the plug-in is usually by simply hitting the 'Add'
button in the TB! plug-in dialog and selecting 'external plug-in'.
You can then browse to where you placed the .bav file and hit OK.
The plug-in is installed. You can then configure it via the dialog.

DrWeb's plug-in has recently come with its own installer that you run
after exiting TB!. Again the installation is very straight forward,
and it's configured via the TB! anti-virus plug-in dialog.

I don't know about this one.

Well, you can tell them that the plugin will provide TB! users with
    special abilities including:

    - Quarantining infected messages to a special TB! quarantine folder.

    - Deleting infected attachments from infected messages upon receipt.

    - Curing infected attachments upon receipt of infected messages.

    - auto-notifying senders of infected messages that you've received
an infected message from their address.

    - being able to check attachments before you execute them or save
    them to disk.

    - being able to check outgoing messages.

    - the plug-in could also provide an sound alert upon receipt of
    infected messages.
