ZA 3.7.159 can be disabled via the following procedure:

1. Log on as an administrator.

2. Disable the ZoneAlarm.exe interface program via that same
program: Overview -> Preferences (tab) -> uncheck "Load ZoneAlarm
at startup", click on "Yes" on the dialog box that follows. This
removes the ZA icon from the All Users Startup folder.

3. Right-click on the ZA icon in the system tray and select
"Shutdown ZoneAlarm". Click "Yes" on the dialog box that follows.
This stops the "TrueVector Internet Monitor" service (vsmon.exe)
and leaves its startup type set to "Manual". Optionally, one could
now change the startup type to "Disabled".

4. Use Regedit to disable the VSDATANT driver by changing the
   filename of the driver:
   HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vsdatant
Change the ImagePath value to: ...System32\vsdatant.xxx

5. Reboot to unload the VSDATANT driver.

After I rebooted, network access was normal and there was no trace of
ZA code loaded anywhere in memory.

This procedure is _not_ the same as what I'd used with ZA 2.6.88, in
mid-2001 under NT 4.0 and W2K. That ZA version could be disabled at
the command line. The current version *cannot* be disabled that way
due to the way VSDATANT is loaded -- as a driver, not a service.

To put ZA back into service, perform the steps in reverse order:

a. Rename the VSDATANT driver in the registry to the correct file
   name.
b. If the "TrueVector Internet Monitor" service startup type was
set to "Disabled", reset it to "Manual".
c. Start ZA via the icon in the Start menu.
d. Reconfigure ZA to load at startup via the ZA interface program.

Could you be a bit more specific? Do you still have problems after
following steps 1-5 above?
