Every version of TB after 1.62b5 will show the splash screen, then wait around for about 10-20 seconds doing nothing else. The process is not using CPU, but will just end after 10-20 seconds. No GUI is ever drawn.
I've been having this problem since 1.62b6 was released. Since that time I have been using 1.62b5 and am stuck there. I have reformatted my drive and reinstalled my OS multiple times. I have had multiple lengthy conversations with RIT support personnel and developers. My first conversation was with someone apparently helpful who seemed to appreciate my finding the exact builds between which the problem was introduced. He seemed to be on the trail of something, but never replied to me ever again. Subsequent inquiries went to a "professional" support person who uses all his experience just to keep me in stasis with the hopes I give up and find another mail client, which is coming on faster than I would have hoped. Anyway, does anyone know what the problem is? I am using Windows 2000 SP3, the problem occurs after a fresh install. It occurs with everything after 1.62b5. Strangely, the changes file for 1.62b5 and 1.62b6 don't seem to help too much. 1.62b5 : [-] Fixed a bug in "Message Redirect" cmmand with inserting the redirector's Reply-To information into the redirected message if the original message didn't have the Reply-To field set. 1.62b6 [-] Removed flickering in the About box when the credits are scrolled. [+] Possibility to choose MailTicker folders at once by right clicking on the MailTicker. [-] Attachments were not deleted from the attachments directory when they were deleted from the Trash folder.
