Hello everyone, I have continued to troubleshoot the issue I'm having with the Selective Download filter with some success -- I have fingered a bug in the software. :-/

Can anyone tell me if this is indeed the case? Yes, if a kill filter has been successful on a message, delete will be selected and receive will be cleared. > I > am wondering if I'm having difficulties because the > Selective Download filter only works on 20 (or fewer) header > lines -- can anyone confirm whether or not this might be the > case? No, the filter is not breaking because of the number of lines. Other test messages sent with the same Subject can be successfully filtered via the Selective Download regular expression I'd created. (The filter in question is set to filter on the Subject directly by selection of the Subject radio button). However, test messages sent with the same Subject *and* the same body would not filter properly! The next task was to narrow down which line(s) of the body caused the Selective Download filter to barf. Here I should note that the original "problem" messages are bounce messages from a Majordomo list server -- they have a *body* that contains the header of the bounced message. So I already had the idea that the Selective Download filter might be filtering on the contents of the body, rather than the header. I finally narrowed this down to where the filter would not work properly with a body consisting solely of a line that began with the text "Subject:" followed by an additional line with any text (even a single letter). If the text immediately following "Subject:" matched the requirements of the filter -- yes you guessed it -- the Selective Download filter filtered on *it* rather than the proper Subject: line in the header. So ... bug-o. Should I now post this to the RITLABS Bugtracking System? > I am using The Bat! version 2.02.3 CE under Windows 98SE. And again, my thanks to all who have read this far. -- Best regards, Constance ________________________________________________________ http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
