Hello The Bat! (TB!) Tech list members, I think I understand what provoked Maxim's message.
The Bat! 1.62r would not start up properly after installation of the Microsoft hotfix MS06-049 "Windows2000-KB920958-v2-x86-enu.exe". TB! would launch, display two errors, and partially display the main screen. The only way to shut TB! down was by canceling the process in Task Manager. (I seem to remember a message about THEBAT.IPC.) There is no event in Event Viewer and no Dr. Watson log is generated. Apparently, TB! doesn't throw an error, but it fails to display the interface and no messages are retrieved. Note that this occurred with version 2 of the hotfix. I uninstalled it and reinstalled the first version, "Windows2000-KB920958-x86-enu.exe", and TB! works fine with this version. Has anyone else noticed this problem with TB! and the MS06-049 920958 v2 hotfix? Is there any workaround? -- regards, Andy [Using The Bat! 1.62r under Windows 2000 Pro SP4 on a "made from scratch" P4-3.06 GHz/2 GB RAM] On Sat, 30 Sep 2006 05:13:53 +0300, Maxim Masiutin wrote: > Hello Tbtech, > There were many problems reported about THEBAT.IPC file. > Let me remind what is THEBAT.IPC [snipped] ________________________________________________________ http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
