No. You can use any connection you like.

I don't know what F2 does... anyway, if you want to check only one
account, click on the icon which looks like an American mailbox. Or,
if you want to check all, press ALT-F2.

This should have worked.

No, I always have it checked. At home I use DUN. If I am connected
already when I want to check my mail, I of course want to use an
existing connection. If you are having an existing connection, and
trying to connect additionally with a second connection and then your
error occurs, don't do it. Try only one connection at a time. I think
your problem is that you want to establish multiple connections at the
same time.

Frankly, I don't know whether TB can handle two connections at one
time, so I suggest to be on the safe side. I don't know KDT, but with
GMX it is certainly of no importance how you connect to the Internet -
you are just checking a normal POP account. I do not see any reason
why you want to have more than one connection at a time, regardless of
how many POP accounts you check. You can connect by t-online, for all
the machine (and the POP3 protocol) cares.

Example:

My connection in the office is via LAN; at home, however, I connect
via DUN (using an ISP called Hinet/Taiwan; domain: hinet.net). Being
connected to that ISP, I check POP accounts at the following domains
in different countries: ibm.net, mozart.inet.co.th, gmx.net, gmx.ch,
hinet.net, aafi.com.tw; I can alternatively connect via DUN to ibm.net
(local Taiwan access number) and also check all accounts at all these
domains (I do that when Hinet is down). I see no reason for multiple
connections, and thus always check the box "use existing connection,
if any". One account (and it really doesn't matter which; I chose the
one with the POP address in Thailand) has the details for the Hinet
DUN, all others have the "use account specific network setting"
*unchecked*.

You will have to make a decision as to which one is your default. Use
the cheapest one. You need the other ones only for back-up, in case
your "default ISP" is down.
