Hello Ian Gore,
On Monday, October 11, 1999, 2:04:25 PM you told us:
IG> As I'm sure everyone knows, TB! has a feature for killing dupes.
IG> The question is, where do dupes come from in the first place? I've
IG> recently subscribed to a discussion list and am receiving
IG> everything twice, though the list owner assures me I'm only
IG> subscribed once. What's worse, all the private mails (i.e. not via
IG> the list server) I get from the list owner are also duplicated!
One of the POPServer features, if you downloaded 10 messages and the
connection failed/broke after download 5 messages, POPServer will not
deleted all (the 10 messages). If later, you try download again, you
will donwload from the beginning, that's why you will receive
duplicate.
This condition can be avoid if either mail client and mail server
support UIDL. The Bat! support UIDL, but sad to say this features only
implement if we set "leave message on server".
