Ctrl Shift + (to expand a thread) and Ctrl Shift Backspace (which
deletes a thread) are next to each other on the keyboard. It's easy to
delete a thread by accident (which is what started me on this topic).
Having unread messages highlighted makes it easier to find them.
Let me turn the question round; why bother to switch the highlighting
off?
