They won't thread only in Mutt or also in TB?

I don't think that it's it. Generally threading is done with
Message-It, In-Reply-To and References fields of a mail message. You
can set up TB to thread on Subjects, but I think it ignores "re[?]:".
If threading doesn't work in Mutt then I dunno, as I have never used
this program. (Where can I get it from? Is it more comfortable than
Pine? Does it support POP3?). There is a bug in TB as far as threading
is concerned: in references field there should be message-id's of all
previous messages in a thread, not just the previous one (or something
like this, I'm not sure -- I'm not an expert).

I'm not sure which version of Outlook you are talking about. I have
used Outlook Express 4 and it doesn't support threading at all.

Ah, so it's Mutt that doesn't do threading? Well, then I'd suspectg
the bug mentioned above... Unless you have set Mutt to sort by
subjects -- then using %singlere (as Ali proposed) may help.
