other posts suggests TB! does not work (well ?) with IMAP, so i probably
misunderstand your question, but here's my 0.02 anyway :

i'm using TheBat! to get my mail from my Inbox on the IMAP-server at work
(Intrastore i think) and it works pretty ok.
i download only the ones i want and got 'leave messages on server' flagged
so i still can read them at work.

i can also read mail from a couple of 'public/shared' folders, kind of
Bulletin-boards they set up.

only 'problem' is that TB always retrieves all headers, even if i select
'only new messages'.
