Hello Januk,

JA> Hello All,

JA> I was wondering, does anyone know what is the best way of backing up
JA> the message databases for The Bat! version 1.36? I found the
JA> directory where all the databases are kept, so I was going to copy
JA> those onto my backup disk. So supposing I do that, will all my
JA> filters be saved too?

if you back up the whole mail-dir & the subdirs, you'll have a back-up
on all 'critical' settings...
only things like window-positions and stuff like that will get lost in
a full-system-crash...
yes, it'll include mail-filters :-)

JA> How about restoring the messages if I lose my current message
JA> database?
just pull the message-base you need back from the backup & overwrite
the current (corrupt) one...

JA> I actually have an example that is confusing the heck out of me. I
JA> had created a folder for e-mail from friends, and subfolders that were
JA> a bit more specific. These folders had some messages in them, but
JA> then TB! announced that they were empty, and so I deleted the folders.
JA> But I was looking around with my Win95 Explorer and I discovered that
JA> the folders and the message databases are still there. But for some
JA> reason, when I try to import using "Import from Unix Mailboxes" But
JA> TB! won't import them. Ideas?

use control-alt-shift-L...
this will search for 'lost'-folders & add (non-corrupted!)
message-bases to the account

'Import from Unix Mailboxes' won't work, cause they are in 'The
Bat!'-format...
