Hi Nick,
On 24 December 1999 at 11:55:10 GMT -0800 (which was 19:55 where I
live) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote and made these points:
NA> Now and then, I notice that some of the replies in a thread show
NA> up as numbers, i.e. Re[2]: and Re[3}, and sometimes I'll have 2 or
NA> 3 showing with the same number, and yet there will be 12 messages
NA> in the thread, and the rest simply show up as Re:
By default TB will respond to a message by putting Re: subject for
given that the original subject field contains "subject". When it
contains "Re: subject", then TB will replace that with "Re[2]:
subject" which is replaced with "Re[3]:", etc. ad-nauseum.
Many of us (including myself) prefer to use the %SINGLERE macro in our
reply templates (especially for mailing list submissions) to disable
this incremental "Re[n]:" behaviour.
Cheers,
Marck
