No,  they  don't.  I  always  view  messages in a folder view with the
message  list  enabled.  That lulled me into a false sense of security
:-).  My  main  point  was  that messages *are* moveable when they are
focused so *that* is not the issue.

There  appear  to  be  a multiplicity of permutations surrounding Move
functionality:

1) From the main TB! window:
      Focus:                    Menu   Ctrl+V
   a) In the folder tree        Ok     Fails
   b) In the message list       Ok     Ok
   c) In the preview pane       Ok     Ok

2) From a folder view window:
      Focus:                    Menu   Ctrl+V
   a) In the message list       Fails  Ok
   b) In the preview pane       Fails  Fails

I think that's all of the permutations. The one you describe is the 2b
scenario with the Message List view disabled.
