Maybe not the answer you are looking for, but for large files, I use
an award winning program called DropChute which is specifically made
for this purpose. It even has the ability that if your files must be
sent, and the other party is not on line, or even around, it will
quickly call his computer, tell his computer to log on the net, and
then hang up. Then both computers will log on automatically and the
file will be delivered even if no one on either side is there. (This
is called the Rendezvous function. If you both are on a intranet,
files are automatically transferred. It compresses files and transfers
them at about 5 times the rate of an email download. Check it out at
<www.hilgraeve.com> I was one of the beta testers on this a couple of
years ago.
