        That was happening to me initially but I created filters for
these messages. These were messages from my ISP, newsletters and the
like that aren't really addressed directly to me and yet aren't spam.

        After a few months of this, I have basically ignored my spam
folder because only spam gets there now. Very occasionally, Nick, spam
ends up in my inbox and it's usually one as you described, ie, one
where the recipient address is about 50 very similar addresses to
mine, seemingly generated using a regexp or something of the sort.
