JA> If one doesn't like TB's keyboard interface, they should go use a
JA> different product and not screw up the one we've got here.

AAAHHH!!! WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON SAYING THESE THINGS!

"If you don't like <some piddly little thing> then just go away and
make your own."

Damn... It's not like Allie said either that it made TB! unusable or
that there was an altogether better package out there. Trust *me*, if
there were a better package out there, I'd be using it. I don't care
about sticking with one program for many many years, I'm just going to
use the software that best fits my needs.

If that software is TB!, then damn straight I'm going to bring up the
things that are irritating. The keyboard interface is TERRIBLE in
TB!, but unfortunately I'm not going to find enough good things in
another piece of software to make up for the detriments, nor do I have
the time to fully develop my own email client.

Quite honestly, I don't believe that there's any way that working on
the keyboard interface

AM>> There would have been no problems

JA> I agree wholeheartedly, but I understand the logic. Consider for a
JA> moment that to access Quick Search, one had to press Q or Shift-Q,
JA> or something. Then what's the real difference between a 'Quick
JA> Search' and a regular search?

Well, it wouldn't need to bring up a full-blown window with controls
outside of the edit control for one. For another, it could do the
incremental search like it does now, which I like in other apps (but
can't get it to work in TB! acceptably).

JA> Personally I prefer using the regular search more, so I wouldn't
JA> mind if the Quick Search feature went the way of the dinosaur. But
JA> as you and others have pointed out, it is a useful feature for
JA> some.

It would still be useful (well, I guess I'm assuming that it can be
made to work <g>), and how much less irritating for EVERYONE that it
wasn't popping up in all of these times when it was absoulutely NOT
wanted?

-tom!
