How about this:
Up to 100MB free storage space @ http://www.driveway.com plus you can now connect
right from Web Folders if you happen to use Bill's Software. Upload files straight
from your browser to the server without agro. Share the folder to give access to its
contents so all those that you wish to give files to can just go and collect. No agro,
no messing about, and certainly as easy as email.
You could also try www.visto.com: "Visto.com gives you secure storage, online access
to your files and 15 MB of FREE storage space!" It also provides Groups that you can
set up and invite people to join. They then can share files, read mail, and basically
belong to a Group. You can have many groups. Lots of features and FREE.
There are many more such FREE services available and most are very simple to use and
agro free, and don't require anything more than a straight forward dial-up connection.
