AFAIK Sendmail not supported SMTPAuth, yet (CMIIW).
For "POP Before SMTP like " you might take a look Relay Rules ($R) such
as :Relay_Domain, Relay_MX etc or through access.db, but be careful
about this setting, it might use by spammers.
IMHO, Qmail have more choice for this, see http://www.qmail.org.
