Hi tracer,
On 12 March 2000 at 11:13:15 GMT +0700 (which was 04:13 where I
live) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote and made these points:

I didn't actually see this message. Who was the originator?

I personally prefer to leave such subscribers subscribed with a "READ
ONLY" setting. That way, they cannot spam the list again but are
themselves stuck receiving list traffic. It worked to good effect on a
Korean Mother Board supplier a couple of months back.
Once he started complaining about being on a list he "did not
subscribe to", I took great pleasure in pointing out how unwelcome and
unsociable his behaviour was in the first place. Once he had
apologised, I removed him - but not until.
>> Again, sorry, but it is impossible to stop someone who spams in

... but using the above method, they think more carefully about doing
it again.

"Legality" is not enforceable across the international boundaries in
place in a list like ours. Where was the "offence" committed? Where do
we seek to "enforce the law"? In Indonesia, where the servers are
sited? In the spammer's country of origin? In Japan where Leif is or
England where I am?
t> In addition they likely sucked all our emails from the list
Perhaps. The only list member addresses they can see are the ones of
those of us contributing to the list. This is true of any list.
