Yes, I think what you want to do is possible...
If you open the properties page for any given folder (right-click then
choose "properties") you'll see an option on the first tab-sheet
called...
"Use account default column settings"
If you have this selected (ticked) then the folder will use the same
column settings as the inbox. Thus, if you ensure this is ticked for
all the relevant folders you simply have to make column setting
changes in the inbox and those changes should cascade down to all the
other folders you set the option in.
