I don't really understand why there would need to be any special
convention, after all, the first printing character after the line
length indicates the start of the new line, no?

I like it alright, and I'm very happy with the column marking options
that don't exist in any other editor.  However it has some MAJOR
shortcomings that would be nigh-on trivial to address (assuming the
architecture of TB is sensible in the first place), so I'm biding my
time 'til v2, if it ever is going to actually be released.
