If I narrow the width of the editor so that the horizontal scroll-bar
appears at the bottom of the editor window, then I also experience the
problem. I keep my editor window at an optimal width, and I also reformat
badly wrapped text immediately so I almost never see the horizontal
scroll-bar while composing. But yes, it's a bug in that the horizontal
scroll-bar shouldn't obscure text while typing.

I'll CC this to the beta list since I'm not sure if this is a beta release
problem.
