Do you mean reading or writing?
If you mean reading, I know what you mean, GB2312 is not mentioned in
the list. It it missing like UTF-7 and -8 are missing. What kind of
Windows do you use? Does it have internal conversion? In my Chinese
Windows (Taiwan), Big5 conversion is integrated, so I read Big5
encoded Chinese characters fine.
If you mean writing, I just checked and found out that all my messages
are written in ISO-8859-1, and I don't know where to change this. Even
messages I receive with charset="Big5" are replied to with
charset=ISO-8859-1. Messages in Chinese can be written without any
problems, I toggle English/Chinese with ctrl-shft.
