I am having the same problem and found that it doesn't happen if you
turn on the option to keep attachments in the message body. I
personally don't like this solution as I like having all my
attachments already decoded in a separate directory where they are
easily accessible and can easily be virus checked. I have sent Stefan
a sample of the message base that is created with one of these
text/plain message attachments in it. Hopefully they will be able to
solve it from this information.
