How could it /not/ be intuitive? You enter the address in the to: field,
enter, cc/bcc as needed, enter, subject, enter, it automatically goes into the
external editor. If you have a better idea on how to make it more intuitive
than that, let me know. I worked with Bob on the behavior of that dialog. It
is modeled after the behavior of pine, elm and mutt from unix and between
those three have been using external editors for longer than most people
knew about email. They would have most certainly come up with something
more intuitive in that time if it weren't already so.
