GMX have that stupid policy that first you have to download mail and
only then they let you upload. The server replies with "Please log in
first".
It's really annoying but they haven't even bothered to reply to a
respective request of mine.
My advice: go get yourself a better provider. GMX is down most of the
time anyway, and they are painfully slow. They _are_ good for
filtering though - forward your mail and use the convenient spam
blacklist they provide in "Options".
