FWIW, I have had the Bat! V1.42f lock up several times for me with
imprting emails.  This also happened to another Bat! user in my
office.  The only solution we could find was to use another mail
program to respond to the emails and just delete them from the server.
 I am actually stuck right now with this- and very frustrated!!
 
Please, developers, lick this bug quickly!!
