Over the years I have often seen mention on this list of using The Bat! on a Linux box under Wine, or in a Windows VM, or even by booting Windows just to use TB!. Presumably some of those concerned have made this decision after trialling a range of Linux mail clients and finding them wanting in some way. I was recently looking at a table of suggested Linus equivalents of Windows software at <http://www.linuxrsp.ru/win-lin-soft/table-eng.html>. They have an entry for "Email client in The Bat style" with five suggestions: Sylpheed, Claws Mail, Kmail, Gnus, and Balsa.
