O.K., here's an auto-suggestive result after a couple of
hours of trying and rethinking. What helped to solve the
Sphinx-Bat's riddle is the way its log-on splash screen,
after _not_ entering any name, tells you that no account
for any user " " exists - if I remember the details and
spelling/spacing correctly. - Spacing is, of course, the
clue, as I simply hadn't noticed having named the latest
account created with a name _plus_, accidentally, a spa-
ce after; THAT's why The Bat could always inform me that
this particular account - which I had subsequently been
stupid enough to make the one account with adminstrator
rights ! - didn't exist.
Right - I'm completely happy with my Bat again and, yes,
I can only remind you to be carefully with your spaces -
they may tend to become invisible at times, sometimes at
the worst moments even...

Best,
Marc
PS: One thought: part of (what created) my problem was
the fact that The Bat's administrator who is e.g. crea-
ting Groups (in Options > Network & Administration) is
always operating _from one (primary) account_, the one
(or even the other?) with administator privileges, _not
from an abstract (or third) position_. Any Group to be
created would (therefore) not include the account he is
operating from; I didn't _get_ this for a while, prima-
rily trying to " bundle " 3 out of 4 accounts and put
them under access with one password - as opposed to the
fourth account for another user who should form another
group (withoug necessity for extra grouping).
