Some non-English-speaking immigrant working at Gmail chose this word.
It should have been "own:" or "self:".

The reason is that Google - as the only POP provider in the world -
assumes that you don't want to receive mails that you have sent. A
logic I fail to understand, but luckily, this misnomed function fixes
their "user friendliness".
