As St - Musaic.Net says, they are temp files.

When I get them, they are always in my Temp directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\[NAME]\Local Settings\Temp

and I currently have five of them. I delete them from time to time
(when TB! is not running) as part of a simple batch file:

@Echo on
@Echo.
@Echo  ******************************************************
@Echo  ******************************************************
@Echo ** Deleting any leftover The Bat! temp files **
@Echo  ******************************************************
@Echo  ******************************************************
::
::
del  %temp%\bat*.tmp

Obviously you would need to edit the path.

Normally TB! would delete them itself but sometimes doesn't get the
chance, for example if something interferes with normal operation or
closedown. Maybe anti-virus software intervenes on incoming messages,
or maybe the laptop gets shut down before TB! has completed its
housekeeping, or occasionally TB! hangs or crashes.

Is it possible to be a closet claustrophobic?

Using The Bat! v4.0.38 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3
