Hello TBUDL'ers, I thought I could make the address book easier and faster to use if I created sub-groups under the default PERSONAL ADDRESS BOOK which is one of the options appearing when you click on the address book icon. Creating the sub-groups was not a problem and they all show up attached to and below the PERSONAL ADDRESS BOOK. After filling each sub-group with it's own addresses, I went to each sub-group and ticked the FAVORITE box for each address. Once this was done I could click on the down arrow next to the CREATE A NEW MESSAGE icon in the toolbar and every address book entry that had it's FAVORITE box ticked would appear, as expected. Next I right-clicked on each sub-group, selected PROPERTIES and ticked the box marked ADD ITEMS TO THE INSTANT ADDRESS POP_UP. This results in nothing but sub-groups appearing when you click on the CREATE A NEW MESSAGE icon down-arrow. You can then cursor down to whatever sub-group you want and as the cursor rested on a sub-group, a drop-down box would appear with the selections ALL ITEMS and the addresses which had their FAVORITE boxes ticked.
Perfect! It worked exactly as logic told me it should work. Except as I found out later, logic doesn't always work with TB!. If you make a change to an existing address or add a new one (to any sub-group), all of the sub-groups disappear from the drop-down list next to the CREATE A NEW MESSAGE icon. Your addresses still exist in the address book however. You have to right-click each sub-group and select PROPERTIES and un-tick the ADD ITEMS TO THE INSTANT ADDRESS POP-UP box. From there you can un-tick FAVORITE on any address you don't wish to appear when you click on the down-arrow, and they will no longer display. Only those addresses whose FAVORITE boxes are still ticked will appear. I have a total of 59 addresses separated out into 6 sub-groups and HAD every FAVORITE box ticked on each address. I work around the problem by having just my most-used addresses FAVORITE boxes ticked so that only they show up when I click on the CREATE A NEW MESSAGE down-arrow. Now if I need a lesser-used address I have to open the address book. It was such a beautiful arrangement and it worked so well.
