Version 8 keys are backwards-compatible for version 7 as well. Make sure that The Bat! 7 displays your version 8 key, it should tell in the about box that the registration key is valid until version 8.9. Then, download and install the version 8 .MSI file. Don't uninstall anything. Version 8 will update all the program files and will keep using your data files. If you like to pin The Bat! to the Windows Taskbar, the icon will no longer be valid. To make it survive installations of the new versions, do the following, once.
