I did find a work around for my Yahoo! account. Yahoo! offers the ability to generate a third party app password. This did work, whew! When I have the time and inclination I will try the method you described. Thank you for letting me know about your tip.

Add a new copy of the yahoo account in TB!. With luck, it will get you to do the "OAUTH" bit in your web browser when you are adding the account, and subsequently the account will login as normal within TB!.
