Strange, it works for me.
(maybe you override it with an addressbook-level template?)

Did you changed the Reply-to settings as well?

It is sufficient to simple put %SINGLERE in your reply template.  If
the others are using "threading by references" (not all mailers can do
this) then the subject absolutely doesn't matter.
