Check the folder properties (right click on the Inbox and select
properties). Make sure that you do not have 'Keep Messages in Base
for (days)" selected.
If that was not selected, then you do a search for that date. Press
F7 and enter an appropriate string to search for. If you don't know
the subject, or you want to find all messages from that date, use a
string 'e' and search in all message headers. Then go to the
advanced tab and choose the dates to search for. Make sure you
search through all accounts just in case you accidentally moved them
somewhere.
