I have a problem I am not sure how to solve to make sending mail as
easy as possible.
Each weekday I use one smtp server at my office and another at home.
At my office I am on a network with a continuous connection and I do
not dial out. My ISP is netcom (now earthlink) who no longer lets you
send mail out from the netcom smtp server unless you have dialed into
netcom. At the office I do not dial into netcom.
During the day, however, I can send mail showing my address as my
netcom account if I use my office's smtp server. At night I can only
send mail using the netcom smtp server as I can't send mail using my
office's smtp server from my home.
I use a notebook computer which I take to and from the office each
day.
At present, when I get to the office, I go into account properties and
go to transport and type in the smtp server which I use at my office.
Then, in the evening, I do the same thing and change the smtp server
to netcom.
In a sense, this is no big deal as it allows me to send mail from
both places. OTOH, having to do this each day is sort of a pain.
Any ideas of ways to handle this where it is easier?
