My time's limited at the moment, so I'll leave some of your questions

The fonts you see are the fixed width fonts ... currently, TB! cannot
make use of proportional fonts. (There *is* a registry "kludge" to
allow it to do so, but from what I hear results range from
unpredictable to downright ugly.)

No, not really, at least not in this version. Again, there are some
half-***ed workarounds, but no true HTML or RTF editing capabilities
exist at this time. Nor true HTML rendering beyond some basics.
