"Continuously" ... TB seems to poll for the presence of this file and
reacts to its appearance pretty instantly.

z> The Bat! must be started.
z> How does one do this from a batch file?
One doesn't have to do it from a batch file. By simply launching TB
from the batch file with the required command line parameters either
TB will be loaded to process the commands or an already running copy
will be sent them. Only if you were writing a program to interface
with TB would you need to do anything with a mutex.
OTOH, to be *in* your filtering batch process, TB *must* have been
running to trigger the process in the first place <g>.
