It means that a sub-folder of the folder with the red checkmark contains
unread messages. The number immediately to the right on the check marked
folder gives the number of unread messages in the folder. The number in
parentheses, to the right, gives the number of unread messages in the
sub-folder/s. Going further to the right, the next number is the total
number of messages in the checked folder, and the last number in
parentheses, gives the total number of messages in the sub-folder/s.
