Ztrader has already made this point but I'd just like to help flesh out
his argument. Currently my TB! holds 10K messages each being
approximately 2K. So this works out at about 20000K of messages
approximately 20MB. In reality it is actually near 30MB. As the
average html mail is 12 times larger at least my mail would take up
about 360MB. Marck would be using 10 hard drives to hold the archives.

Here's how to write a TOC in plain text

1. Point out what a stupid idea html mail is.
2. Show how to write a TOC only using letters and numbers.
3. Pray that html mail will be outlawed.
4. Reasons why TB is not a mass market tool

DTS> So why not just have it optional. Do you think that because some TB

We can only hope.

If TB! was a mass market tool we would have to support all the Outlook
Express users who fancy trying to use a real mail client. TBUDL would
be dedicated to solving problems like "My mouse has reached the end of
the desk. How can I move the pointer to the right.", to see what I
really mean read ReBoot My PC on topica www.topica.com

DTS> I do have one question though. When email started there was no bold,
DTS> underline etc. Should these simple features be removed?
TB! still doesn't support bold and underline because it's *plain*
text. If people which to send fancy formatted messages save them as a
PDF and mail them as an attachment. Note the use of PDF, Word
documents are not a universal format. It is impolite to force people
to use Word just to view your mail. At least Acrobat is free. Also
word files are real bloatware.
