Hello Vinay,
On Monday, September 18, 2000 at 00:13:22 GMT -0700 (which was 12:13 AM
where I live) witnesses say Vinay Kudithipudi typed:
> Hello Batties,
> I was wondering if there is any way I can process text from my incoming
> messages. I want to save a particular part of the text in the incoming
> mail to a text file and delete the message.
Explore the find command in a dos command prompt window. Type
find /?
Once you learn what you want, you can use TB's filters to run this
program and pass the contents of the message to the command. If you
redirect the output to a file, you've got what you want. Output
redirection is done by adding "> filename" without the quotes to the end
of your command. (Note, this is almost identical to what you'd do in
Unix using Grep)
The TB filter action should be able to run this command and delete the
original message for you. I would recommend first testing without
deletions.
I haven't tried this one, so you'll need to play around with it to
find out exactly what the syntax needs to be.
