Hey Batgirls and Batboys! Since we're waging this holy war to impose our Bat! client upon the rest of the world, I thought the following post might interest you. It's my own bit of propagandizing for The Bat!... Am I doing this well, now tell me... ;-)) Alex. of Slovakia This is a forwarded message From: Avenarius <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Jack on Talisman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Friday, September 22, 2000, 8:29:56 PM Subject: meta-Off-Topic: Re: Off-topic -- Postings ===8<==============Original message text=============== On Friday, September 22, 2000 at 10:52:48 (GMT -0400), which was 16:52 in Bratislava, Slovakia, Jack wrote: J> It appears to be sent by Cliff, but then he was quoting himself and J> some unknown. If you'd like to get to know the world's finest, smartest email client, check out "The Bat!" at www.ritlabs.com. (And no, I'm not employed by Ritlabs though it appears I may be chosen to translate the interface / help files into Slovak.) One of The Bat!'s finest features is that its editor is wysiwyg, that is: unlike in Outlook Express, the fortmatting that you see on your screen as you're writing a post, is the exact formatting used for sending the message off. In contrast, Outlook Express reformats the entire message after you hit the Send button, resulting in a total messup of previously quoted posters. I mean lines like this > and then Jack >>> wrote that it would be > useful This will never happen with The Bat!. In addition, it can include an initial letter in front of the quote sign, such as J> My Outlook Express program tends to conceal more than it reveals That's very useful in maillists, I believe. The downside: Outlook Express is free, while The Bat! is $35. The amount is worth paying, though. Enough of propagandizing! I'm very excited about this mail client, though. On the multi-cultural front, it's remarkable that the software was invented by two under-30-year old Russians (?) from Moldova.
