Hello Jan,
A reminder of what Jan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) typed on:

This is exactly what I mean. Did you look in the folders to see if what
you've lost is there.
This is how I discovered this phenomenon. The file to fully install TB!
from fresh is called thebat.exe and is a self extracting installation.
Version updates, usually beta versions just include the actual bat
executable, also called thebat.exe.
I once lost all ability to use the spell checker so I though maybe a
reinstall would help. Instead of clicking an actual installation copy
of TB I clicked an update exe file. This caused TB to open and at the
same time unbeknown to me it created a full set of empty TB
directories. The registry for some reason was aslo updated to point to
these new empty folders.
Even though the exe file I clicked on was not actually on my HD it
still created this extra set of folders and I lost a great deal of hair
and sleep, as you have done trying to fathom it out.
The fact that you have found a second set of folders containing all
your inbox info leads me to believe you may have, without realising it,
done a similar thing.
I should just say that my second set of folders was still placed in
Program files, but because of the presence of an existing The Bat!
directory was given a different name from what is usually given by
default.
Why your second set should be found in the trash, assuming you didn't
put them there, is beyond me.
