Yes, I just did it using NotePad, TextPad and Netcaptor. Works just
fine.

Exactly. This was the annoyance I encountered without the default
mailto: option checked. With TextPad, I'd always have an extra account
selection Popup left behind that I could only get rid of by closing TB!.
