No, that is not correct. First of all, with The Bat! "New" means any unread
messages, whether they are newly downloaded or downloaded hours or days
ago.
As to the column display in your example of " 0 (3) ", the 0 means that you
have 0 new (unread) mails in the parent folder, and the 3 means that you
have 3 new mails in the sub-folders of that parent folder.
For example, your Inbox "New" column reads " 125 (22) ". This means that
you have 125 new (unread) mails in the Inbox folder, and the 22 shows that
you have 22 new mails in sub-folders of the Inbox.
And as an example for the "Total" column, your Inbox reads " 311 (155) ".
This means that you have 311 total mails in your Inbox and 155 total mails
in sub-folders of the Inbox.
