Hi Terrance,

On 27 November 2000 at 02:50:32 -0500 (which was 07:50 where I
live) Terrance O'Hearn wrote and made these points:

TF>> So TB ignores the "Source Folder" instruction in the filter rules.
TF>> May this be your problem? Try focussing the TBUDL folder first, and
TF>> then apply the archiving filter and see whether it works.

TOH> Do you know of any sources for Cookie Text files? As a former Fidonet
TOH> Sysop we used to share them, but I've lost everything I had ...

Why is this question being asked in reply (without *any* trimming) to
an unrelated topic? These actions are in breach of the rules of this
list.

   m. Please start all new topics by creating a brand new message.

Do *not* just reply to an existing message and change the
      subject.

The Bat! is a "threading" mail client. It threads messages using
message IDs and Reference headers. Most list members use one of
the threading views to sort messages.

Whenever anyone replies to a message, it is becomes threaded
beneath the message to which it is a reply whether or not the
      subject is changed.

If you reply to a message to start a new topic, it will have one
or more of the following effects:

      1) Your message will be ignored by those not following that
         thread.
      2) Everyone's threading for that message will be messed up.
      3) You may not get the answers your questions deserve.
      4) Threading purists will get annoyed.
- -----8<-------------------------------------------------------------

Also in the list rules, and in the rules of basic netiquette, is the
courtesy of not wasting bandwidth by over-quoting. While your question
was certainly a valid one, you quoted every last byte of the unrelated
conversation to which you had inappropriately replied:

- -----8<-------------------------------------------------------------
   i. Try to eliminate as much of the original post when you quote as
possible without eliminating the important aspects. What I'm
- -----8<-------------------------------------------------------------

And another broken rule:

- -----8<-------------------------------------------------------------
   f. When posting your question, provide a meaningful subject line.
- -----8<-------------------------------------------------------------

I am unhappy with the way in which you responded to Thomas's helpful
reply. Seeing that response, I'm not even going to attempt to answer
your actual question since I was merely the sysop of an ordinary BBS
which wasn't connected to FIDO net (although it was capable).
