Hello Doug,

I'm probably still too new to TB! myself to give you the best
explanation. But when setting a filter, look under the options tab
to see where you can set a hot key to fulfill a task that you set.
In my case I was trying to use a hotkey to color code a particular
msg & move it to a special folder which saved me a couple of steps.

Doug> Oh, not sure why both a move to a new folder and a change in colour?

This probably belongs in the "Dept of Redundancy Dept". One could
logically conclude (as you have) that if one changes the color
there might not be a reason to move it to a separate folder because
it has already identified by the color id. I guess I do it because
some msgs get buried depending on how you have your view options
set & it's easier for me to see what I need to do when the msgs are
gathered in their own folder. I'm sure others will have
   other/better systems.

Anyway, I hope my explanation helped answer your question(s).
