Hi Edward,

On 11 December 2000 at 21:05:02 -0700 (which was 04:05 where I
live) Edward Taylor wrote and made these points:

There are only two methods, whatever the front end may look like. You
can send one 60kb message which the outbound routing server breaks
down and delivers (BCC address lists are not passed to the final
recipient, but do exist during routing) or you send 2000 1.5kb
messages to each individual recipient in the list. RFC822 compatible
SMTP delivery methods only provide these two alternatives, however it
may be wrapped.

The forthcoming feature in v1.48 that was mentioned already will do
the latter of these two and is currently in beta test. BCC already
achieves the former.

BTW: I really hope we're talking about lists of consenting recipients
here and not about spamming unwilling victims!
